On May 10 of 1777, she married in Medway Daniel Adams (1746-1778)[2], a Medway native who had graduated from Harvard in 1774 and was preparing for work in the ministry. Their first son, Horatio Adams, was born in Medfield in September of 1777[3]
She moved with Daniel to Watertown, Massachusetts, in 1778, where he had been called to serve as a minister[4]. Unfortunately, Daniel died of dysentery in September of 1778[5] and Silence was pregnant with their second son, born in Watertown in 1779 and also named Daniel.[6]
Eventually, Silence returned to her family home in Medfield, where she married John Baxter (1746-1832) in Medfield on 25 November 1784.[7]
