Elizabeth Dowell was born about 1837 in Stockton on Tees, County Durham, England

In 1859, Elizabeth Dowell married John Dixon. The marriage was registered in Guisborough, Yorkshire. ^[1]

They had children:

Elizabeth is not shown with her family on the 1881 census, when they were living in Guisborough. Her husband John is still in Guisborough in 1891, living as a boarder, and in 1901 he is in Middlesbrough. No further trace has been found of Elizabeth after their son George was born in Whitby in 1873.
