Is there a page that lists parishes with missing records / records lost to fire? If not , can we make one and add it to a sources page?
posted by Lauren Millerd
there is no such list. Some parishes have only fragmentary records, some have records kept in another parish (duplicates entered by roving missionnaries), and so on. Extremely time consuming to try to create a list of such. With no certainty that it would be complete or accurate.

Regarding Guillaume Pépin: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Pepin-684

I don't believe there is any evidence he had the dit-name "Tranchemontagne" . This was found on nosorigines at some time in the past, but it's not reported on PRDH. Tranchemontagne was the dit-name of his son-in-law, François Roussel (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Roussel-505).

hello Antoine, you should make that comment on the actual profile involved, not the project page please.

I added the Quebecois project box but couldn't figure out how to get the project added as a manager as required. Please feel free to edit as you wish.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Côté-52 PPP can be removed, think it was because of a merge that needed to go the right way

same for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Guignard-83

Do we have guidelines for the Quebecois Project? I'd be interested in:

1 - How to record "dit" names,

2 - How to work with surname recording variations within a family (e.g., Riopel, Riopelle, Reopelle, Reo Pell, etc.)

3 - Standard Quebecois Project categories and conventions for Wikitree categorization

4 - Recommended methods for recording Quebecois references

Excellent replies directed me to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois

Thanks!

anybody interested in Charlotte Maugis, Maugis-2, please take a look at the 2 part comment I just posted on her profile, with its source included. We may be dealing with fantasy parents here.
