Teams

The Canada Project organises itself into teams. On joining the project you will have the opportunity to contribute to one or more of these teams:

Geographical Teams

Atlantic Canada Team

The Atlantic Canada Team includes the four sub teams and projects of New Brunswick Team, Prince Edward Island Team, Nova Scotia Team and Newfoundland and Labrador Team

Ontario Team

The Ontario Team is a sub-team of the Canada Project. The team focuses on all profiles relating to the province of Ontario.

Québec Team

The Québec Team focuses on all profiles of people born in Québec and includes the Québecois Project Team , the Filles du Roi Project Team, and the Grosse Île, Québec Project Team.

Western Canada Team

The Western Canada Team includes the four sub teams and projects of Alberta Team, British Columbia Team, Manitoba Project and the Saskatchewan Team.

Other Teams

Managed Profiles Team

The Managed Profiles Team are a group of skilled individuals who collaborate on profiles managed and protected by the Canada Project. These profiles may be of notable Canadians, gateway ancestors, or those which might be considered contentious. They seek to raise the standard of these profiles to the highest level possible through research, connecting to the global tree, and through the writing of biographies.

Connectors Team

The Connectors Team is focused on connecting all the loose branches in our Canadian tree. This team will also tackle the Needs Profiles Created category.

Trans Canada Trail Team

The trail uses existing orphaned profiles associated with Canada, which serves two purposes. It gives Travellers the freedom they need to practice and make mistakes, and it helps improve the quality of profiles within the project's scope.

Categories Team

The Categories Team are a group of individuals familiar with Canadian locations, topics and WikiTree Categorization. They work closely with the Categorization Project. The main goal for this team is to establish and maintain an accurate category structure for the Project. Please direct your Canadian category questions to this team.

Sub Projects Team

The Sub-Projects Team covers a variety of specialist sub-projects for Canada. Current projects include the British Home Children Team, Empress of Ireland Team, and the United Empire Loyalist Team.

Good morning - Can we get a "Canadian Roots" sticker, please? I'm not from Canada, but I have tons of ancestors from Canada and I want to be able to show my Canadian pride on my profile page. Thank you.

hi Judi, there is actually a procedure to go through to get a sticker created; one has to request it through G2G forum. Stickers are managed by categorization project I believe.

Hi! I've had an answer to a G2G question I posted that is asking for a change to the Canada Sticker's French version for "born in". Could you take a look at the answer and confirm that the changes are needed? I would need approval from one of the project's leaders before proceeding. Thanks!

hi Liz, added my two bits on the G2G answer, he is correct. The use of en Canada en Québec is extremely antiquated.

I added project templates to the profiles of Christopher Plummer and the McLaughlin brothers and requested access from the PM's while logged in as Canada Project. I was logged in to check unconnected watchlist and had forgotten to change the log-in.

Hi I'm a descendant of Charles Steven Black and James & Hannah Black. I understand the Black family migrated through Canada to US. I'd like to know more about the group to verify this.
Hi! Alexis Payet was the subject of a G2G discussion for his LNAB. He is protected & I added the project box for this project to his profile (born 1822 - past the time for Quebecois project). Can I add the project as his manager? His wife probably also needs protection for Lefebvre (a LNAB also recently discussed in G2G).

If it's not ok to add the WikiTree-58 as manager to Payet-156 & Lefebvre-991, please let me know.

Thanks!
