Biography

Non-Person Profile: This profile is an exception to the rule that profiles must represent real, individual human beings.

Q: Why was the One Name Study project account added to the One Name Study page I manage?

A: We've had some problems with unresponsive profile managers on One Name Study pages and profile managers changing one name studies to Unlisted. So we've added the ONS project account so that these pages are still accessible, since the ONS pages are part of the ONS project. If you want to move it to just the Trusted List - that's fine - as long as it stays at least there.

I agree!! I have only one,the Tesseneer name study, and this was suddenly added as a profile mgr. I was not contacted first nor have I been contacted by anyone about this name study at all. I started it not realizing family responsibilities were going to take up much of my time, but I have not been unresponsive. There has been nothing to respond to! I did request assistance once & was told to "read the directions". I am the first person to add any Tesseneers to wikitree! It is a small, complicated family with a family story getting in the way of finding reliable info. I didnt need or request this bot, another family member would be great! This is not a family member. It was not nice, polite or friendly to have my name study invaded.

In re-re-re-reading the ANSWER posted here, are you (wikitree) claiming that profiles wikitree has marked private (due to the still alive issue) are the reason wikitree is now claiming anyone with a one name study has changed profiles to unlisted? I am very upset that your claiming those of us with one name studies are "unresponsive"! Unless someone has posted something on a profile that for some reason I was never notified about, I have never had anyone contact me with issues about the one name study that I have not answered back! If in fact you have had issues with someone, why not just deal with them, why are you doing whatever this is, to all of us??? And why do it without any discussion first? I have been looking through the one name study page, and G2G, and you must be hiding ..

I just had two profiles moved here??? No one has sent me any email about my name study, so I do not understand the mention of "unresponsive". I am also asking what is going on here? I am normally on weekly, and I am notified about this by just having it done??? In regards to this page, this Q&A posted here is sure not answering questions about what is going on!

There seems to be a deafening silence here from the people who are supposedly telling us what we should do.

I guess we'll have to file "unresponsive" reports against this profile. And report the profile as abusive?

I think the pivotal word here is "some" problems. Why should all of us who have started One Name Study Pages have our projects taken away from us? If I am consistently unresponsive to requests *then* pass it to the BOT, but this action doesn't reflect the "friendly WikiTree" we are constantly reminded of.

I have never been contacted re my One Name Study so removal of me was a bit premature. Adding a BOT as manager is rather counter-intuitive, isn't it? I would rather remove the "Study" than have a BOT manage it.

I agree with all those below. If there profile manager is unresponsive they should be dealt with in the same manner as always which is set by rules and guide lines. This should have discussed.

Could someone

either https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Trtnik-2 or https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Langholf-2

point us to the thread on G2G where this had been discussed in advance rather than being unilaterally imposed without any debate.

Surely before a bot is allowed to run amok people should have a chance to comment.

And explain why my previous post was deleted _before_ the half-baked explanation we've been given.

Because censoring people is a really good way to run a project.

My page remains on lockdown for obvious reasons.
