Born Ruby Joyce Wilbar, Julie Parrish played Miss Piper on the "Star Trek" episode The Menagerie, Part I.

Every young woman who played the part of Elvis’ girlfriend in a movie was known ever after as an Elvis Girl so when Julie played his girl friend in “Paradise Hawaiian Style” she became a part of that elite group and that became a part of her identity. She was proud of her role and she loved Elvis for his kind and gentlemanly ways. She went every year to Graceland to celebrate Elvis’ birthday with his wife and the special group that gathered there.

Julie traveled around the United States to her fan clubs, speaking and singing at their meetings as long as she was able. She went also to fan clubs for Elvis to speak and sing for the commemoration of his passing or his birthday. She was generous with her time and loved doing these things.

In 2003 on her way back from Graceland she stopped at my home in New Mexico and spent a week with me. Julie was an avid genealogist as am I and we spent the week exchanging Wilbar information and enjoying being together. She went all over the country visiting Wilbars and gathering information about our family. We corresponded until her death and it was and is a great sadness to me that she is gone from us. You can bet that she would have loved WikiTree and would have taken a very active part.[1]
