Biography

Edith Mary Wilber was likely born in Fall River Mills CA, but no definitive birth record has been found. Her father was born in Maine; he registered to vote in Plumas and Humboldt Counties, CA, beginning in 1867, when he was 25 years old. In 1884 he registered in Shasta County. Edith, the first child in the family, was born in the intervening interval of uncertain location, but certainly in northern CA, consistent with subsequent census records. Birth records of other children indicate that the family continued to live in Fall River Mills until the late 1890's, and then moved to Compton, Los Angeles County, CA, by 1900.

Edith married Seymour Locke Watts Sr in Compton 22 Apr 1902. Seymour was the second child of Charles Harvey Watts and Millie Moore Locke, who were the first couple married in Pasadena CA. Seymour and Edith had two children, Millie Lois Watts and Seymour Locke Watts Jr.

Edith died in Los Angeles in 1948.
