When Aaron Wilcox was born on November 10, 1803, in Chestertown, New York, his father, Joel, was 26 and his mother, Catherine, was 17. He married Azubah Wilcox in 1827. They had seven children in 14 years. He died on February 12, 1864, in Lenawee, Michigan, at the age of 60.
