Biography
Joseph Wilde was born 20 Jul 1857 in Hyde, Cheshire, England to William Wilde and Elizabeth (Greenhalgh) Wilde. His birth was registered in Stockport, Cheshire in the third quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Greenhalgh.[1]
Joseph Wilde, son of William & Elizabeth, was christened on 22 Nov 1857 at St George, Hyde.[2]
In 1861 Joseph Wilds (age 3) lived in Hyde with his father William (35, Coal Miner), mother Elizabeth (25), and brother Samuel (0).[3]
In 1871 Joseph Wilde (age 13, Labourer) lived in Hyde with his father William (43, Coal Miner), mother Elizabeth (36), and four siblings: Samuel (10, Scholar), Emma (8, Scholar), Henry (6, Scholar), and Elijah (0).[4]
On 11 Sep 1876, Joseph Wilde, son of William Wilde, married Alice Hadfield, daughter of James Hadfield, at St Mary, Stockport.[5] The marriage was registered in Stockport in the third quarter of the year.[6]
In 1881 Joseph Wilde (age 24, Coal Miner) lived at Port St in Hyde with his wife Alice (22) and three children: James (4, Scholar), Mary E (3, Scholar), and Samuel (1).[7]
Joseph was one of the firemen working at the Hyde Lane Colliery. On the morning of 18 Jan 1889 Joseph was killed in an explosion in the mine.[8] His brother Samuel identified him.[9]
His death was registered in Stockport in the first quarter of the year.[10] He was buried 22 Jan 1889 at St. George, Hyde, Cheshire, England.[11]
