Biography

Sophie Dorothae Frederike (known as Dorothae) was born on December 15, 1833[1] in Gormin, Prussia.

She is the daughter of Johann Jacob Wilde[2]. Dorothae was the unmarried mother of Caroline Klug. Family history tells the story that it was a Prussia Nobleman that was the father of Caroline and paid Johann Klug to marry Dorothae. Johann and Dorothae immigrated to the United States in 1868, arriving at the Port of Baltimore on June 18, 1868 on board the Str. Berlin[3]. It was from there they made their way to Colfax County, Nebraska and spent the rest of their lives.

She passed away on 17 Aug 1873[1] in Colfax County, Nebraska.
