John Wilder was born on November 28, 1741 in Bolton, Worcester County, Massachusetts. His parents were William Wilder and Sarah Whitcomb. [1]
He married Rebecca Sawyer on May 24, 1763.
Together they had these children born in Templeton, Massachusetts: [2]
He died on June 29, 1824 in Dummerston Town, Windham County, Vermont. [3]
There are two John Wilders, credited to Templeton, who Minutemen in Capt.Joel Fletcher's company, Col. Ephraim Doolittle's regt. according to Mass. S&S [4] , one a Lieutenant and one a Corporal. This profile is a candidate, since John & Rebekah were having children in Templeton around that time, but the same might be said for John Wilder & Mary (though the birth dates are later, 1789..1793 and might be their grandchildren), and for the John & Katherine (FS MKKP-RQ1) whoever that might be. DAR is no help. Book of the Wilders is no help.
