He married Zelma E. Robinson (1867–1886)[3] and they had at least one child: Virgil Wilds (1885–1918). Virgil's death certificate notes that both of his parents were born in Kentucky. Virgil died in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky and is buried at Mount Olivet Methodist Cemetery, White Oak, Garrard County, Kentucky.[4]
