Biography
Edward was born in 1908. He was the son of Walter Wiles and Mary Shonkwiler. He passed away in 1981.
Edward Thompson Wiles
WALDPORT – Edward Thompson Wiles, 72, died Wednesday in the Evergreen Care Center in Lincoln City, after a long illness.
Born in Portland, he lived in Waldport for five years, and was a former resident of Portland, St. Helens and Clatskanie. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Before illness forced him to retire, he was a self-employed restaurant operator.
Survivors include his wife, June; sister, Winnefred[sic] Carlson, Gladstone; and five nephews and one niece.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Riverview Abbey Chapel, Portland, under the direction of Bateman mortuary. Vault entombment will follow in the Riverview Abbey Mausoleum. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon and Sunday in the chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to a favorite charity.
