1901 Census: 47 years, a Paper Mill Manager, living in St. Pauls Cray, London[1]
William clearly establishes a career in the paper industry. From his timeline it is probable that he had had two stints at a paper mill in St Pauls Cray, probably the Foots Cray Mill owned by the Nash family, although the Joynson Paper Mill was also established at nearby St. Marys Cray. These two stints were punctuated by a period of time in Devon, where he was Foreman at the Stowford Paper Mill in Ivybridge, Devon.[2][3]
