Biography

Susannah Wiley was born about 1770 and died before 1830. She married Edward Poole on Nov 9, 1790 at Old Presbyterian Meeting House, Alexandria, Virginia by Pastor James Muir. This is the only record to connect the couple.

The Pool women sold chickens and other fresh organic food supplements to Martha and George Washington wrote in his personal journal.

The 1800 Census for Fairfax, Virginia see Binns Tax Lists on Google. Edward or Edmund Pool is listed with Richard, Dennis, Thomas and Thomas Pool Jr.

The 1810 Census for Edmond Pool is blank. Every two pages have rows for the genders and ages. The column totals are correct and Edmund's are blank.

The 1820 Fairfax Census for Edward are males 0 to 9-1; 10 to 15-1; 16 to 18-1; 16 to 26-1 and 45 plus 1 (Edward) and females 45 plus are 2. Persons engaged in Agriculture are 2 and no slaves.

Conclusion: Susannah was born before 1775; married 1790 and died before 1830. Most women were 18 or 20 when married and Susan was 45 or older by 1820 Census.

Did Susannah and Edward have any children? Yes, 4 sons George Washington, John Wesley, Henson and Walter all mentioned in Edmund Pool's 1836 will.
