Event: Bastrop Advertiser. Obit 8 MAR 1956. Note: Services were held for Pete Wilhelm, 79, on February 27 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Rockne, with the Rev. Claude A. Faust officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rockne. Mr. Wilhelm passed away on February 25 at 9:20 a.m. at the F. A. Orgain Memorial Hospital following a short illness from the effects of a heart attack. Pall bearers were Alfred Wilhelm, Arthur Wilhelm, Buerendine Wentland, Henry Tripp, Carl Rice and Floyd Zumwalt. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Anna Wilhelm; two sons, Joe Wilhelm and Marvin Ernest, San Antonio; five daughters, Mrs. Rosa Allen, Marlin; Mrs. Christina Kadura, San Antonio; Mrs. Erna Wiseman, Waco; Mrs. Emilia Seidel and Mrs. Clara Meuth, Rockne; four brothers, John and Andy Wilhelm, Rockne; Joe Wilhelm, Bastrop; Frank Wilhelm, San Antonio; 24 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two daughters preceded him in death at infancy, and one son, twenty two months ago. Born at Rosanky on December 24,1876, Mr. Wilhelm was the son of John Wilhlem and Elizabeth Meuth Wilhelm. On May 17, 1900, he was united in marriage with Hanna Zurborg at St. Mary's Church, Bastrop. He was a lifelong resident of Bastrop County, and made his home at Rockne, where he was a member of Sacred Heart Church. By occupation, he was a farmer, but had retired in recent years. Out of town friends and relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilhelm and children, Mr. and Mrs. H. Tripp and family, Clara Lee, Joe Kadura, Mary Kadura, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wilhelm and family, Christina Kadura, all of San Antonio; Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Wiseman and son, Waco; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Allen, Joe Wilhelm and E. R. Goodnite, Marlin; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rice, Smithville.
