Biography

Elias, was most likely born in Washington County, Tennessee , as his Father Reuben is on the 1814 tax list there. He married Catherine Pass (daughter of James Holloway Pass and Mary Martha Pistole in 1838) and they had six children before she passed away.

Elias then married Martha Jane Pauline Whitson, a young neighbor, in 1853. They had moved to Carroll County, Arkansas by 1860. They had five children together before Elias passed away.

Martha is listed as head of house on 1870 census.[1] The original profile showed 21 Sep 1872 as his death date, but there is no source to verify that. It looks like he may have passed away before 1870.

Research Notes

  • Mickey has name as Reubin Elias
  • I don't know why they would conclude his name as Reuben Elias, as he had a brother Reuben JR. If there was a Reuben in his name it was Elias Reuben.
