1180y-a ABSALOM WILKIN5 b. near Woodstock, Shenandoah Co.,Va; July 30, 1817; d. at Granville, Mo., Dec. 6 1906, bur. there; m. Mar. 26, 1861, ELIZABETH MARTIN, b. at Newark, O., Feb. 25, 1826; d. July 28, 1883, bur. at St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Wilkin was a carpenter millwright by vocation while in Ohio, Illinois, and Iowa; but after his married (1861) he moved to Granville, Mo., where he purchased a large tract of land which he farmed until his death. He was a man of upright character and strong principles and was an honored member of the Lutheran Church.

This Deed made this 30th day of March 1861 between Moses Wilkins & Mariah Wilkins his wife of the first part and Absalom Wilkins of the second part all of the County of Monroe & State of Missouri.
Witnesseth that the party of the first part for & in consideration of the sum of Nineteen hundred Dollars to the said party of the said party of the first part in hand paid the Receipt of which is hereby acknowledged do by these presents grant, bargain & sell unto the party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever the following described Real Estate situate in the County & State aforesaid to wit : The East half of the West half of the South East quarter of section ten except one acre in the S. E. corner which was reserved by Wm A Sparks for a school House, also ten acres off the North end of the West half of the North East quarter of Section fifteen also the following tract of land to wit: Beginning in the center of Section ten thence North 89 E 10 poles to a stake a ( 2 ) thence W/N 102 E 58 poles to a point a (3) in the center of Otter Creek, thence up said Creek due west 14 poles to a Black Oak, Thence S 12 ½ W 8 poles to a stake on the South bank, Thence S 77 W 16 poles, Thence up said Creek N 50 W 20 poles to a black Oak, Thence N 25 E 48 to a Stake on the N bank Thence N 66 W 17 poles, Thence S 89 W 58 poles to a White oak thence S 102 W 96 poles to the begining containing forty nine acres more or less, all in Township Fifty five Range eleven West, and containing in all ninety eight acres To Have And To Hold, the same together with all the rights privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever we the said party of the first part for our selves our heirs executors & administrators, covenant to & with the said party of the second part this heirs & assigns that we do & will forever warrant and defend the title to the real Estate above described to him the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all persons whomsoever And this Indenture further Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the Receipt of which is hereby acknowledged to by these presents remise, release and forever quit claim unto the said party of the second part his heirs & assigns for ever the following Real Estate situate in the County & State aforesaid to wit: The West half of the West half of the South East quarter of Section ten Township fifty five Range eleven West
