DNA Tested
GS Herring's DNA has been tested for genealogical purposes. It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with GS or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with GS:

G S, Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential.

The Scottish Clans project seems to fit your Scotts ancestors. Leaders are Maria Maxwell and Doug Straiton. Click the link to read how to join.

Or use the Pre-1700 Projects list, at the top of your page, 4th topic on right, under <Find> and <Projects>.

For questions, just ask!

Hi GS,

In answer to your question on a DNA relationship with Nehemiah Stephens. I have not been able to identify him with DNA. Naturally none of his actual is available. We would only be able to use a firm paper trail and DNA from his descendants to do this. Wiki Tree asks for three related DNA submissions though Gedmatch to show the DNA links. It would be good if we could also get a male Stephens to submit a Y DNA sample for deeper tracing. I looked through my books which includes all of my mothers work and I do not have a paper trail to Nehemiah. Welcome to Wiki Tree,

George Kennedy

As you have been a member of WikiTree for about a few weeks now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To  been helpful or left you with any questions?

I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

Sometimes links don't work in emails.  If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Thank you for volunteering. You are now a full member of WikiTree.

Start with the New Member How-To Pages - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around:

Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.
