Oteele was born in 1895 to Dr. and Mrs. Alonza Mills Wilkins. Her father was a dentist in Griffin and her mother owned a millinary shop in 1910. [1] in 1920, the family was still living in Griffin, and Oteele was teaching music. [2]She married Dr. James Boylan Brown on 3 Jan 1920 in Griffin, Georgia. [3] Her husband was a dentist and had a practice in Griffin. She had three children that they raised there. In 1939, her husband suddenly passed away. In 1940, she is still living in Griffin[4], but she is in Chicago in 1942, living with her son James. By 1945, she was living in Long Beach California. She continued to live in California until she passed away in 1975.
