Biography

13 March 1815, Lincoln County, North Carolina, deed book 30: 99. George L. Davidson of Iredell County to James Wilkinson Junr of Lincoln County, for $100 conveys 100 acres lying in Lincoln County on the South Side of Mill Stone branch, adjoining James Wilkinson Senr, Childers corner, and John Linebarger Junr. Reference being had to Sherrills deed dated 7 January 1806. [Signed:] Geo L. Davidson. Witnesses: Michael Linebarger, Johanna Linebarger. January 1822 sessions, proved in open Court by oath of Michael Linebarger.

July 1816 sessions, Ordered that Alexander McCorkle, Thomas McCorkle, James Wilkenson Jnr. & Jacob Abernathy & Luckhart Sherrel serve as Patrols in Capt. Loftens District for one year.[1]

Ordered by court that copies of petition be served on all the heirs of age to be and appear at our next court of pleas to be held for Catawba County at the Court House in Newton on the third Monday in October next to answer or demur to said petition. It is further ordered that Geo Setzer, Clerk, be appointed Guardian pendente lite for the minor heirs of the said deceased.[6]

Ordered by the Court that that Henry Wilkinson, Administrator, have leave to sell the land of the said Wilkinson according to the prayers of the petition of Henry Wilkinson, Administrator, giving a credit of 12 months to the purchaser, giving twenty days notice before the sale.[7]

Catawba County, North Carolina, deed book 3: 386-387. 19 November 1847, Henry W. Wilkison, administrator of James Wilkison Junior deceased, to John J. Shuford for $200 conveyed 110 acres on the South side of Mill Stone branch, adjoining James Wilkison Senior, Childers’s corner, Linebarger’s corner; excepting about 40 acres which was allotted to James Wilkison Jr.’s widow for her natural life whereon she now lives on the North West side of the publick road. After her death it is to belong to John J. Shuford. [Signed] Henry Wilkinson, administrator. Witnesses: Wm. W. Munday, L. A. Shuford. June Sessions 1848, proved by L. A. Shuford.[8]
