TOWARDS THE CENTURY.
DEATH OF A KANGAROO ISLAND LADY.
Our Hog Bay correspondent wrote on Monday:—Mrs. Thomas Willson, sen., died yesterday morning at her residence, Lincoln Gottage, in her ninety-third year. She had lived on the island for 44 years, and was one of the most respected settlers. Mrs. Willson left England on April 1, 1848. She was a native of Lincoln. Her husband, who died five years ago, was the first justice of the peace on the island. Mr. and Mrs. Willson lived for many years in the Yankalilla district before coming to Kangaroo Island. Her death was not unexpected,. for she had been in failing health for several months. Three sons—Messrs. T., C. D., and M. Willson—and one daughter—Mrs. Hibbard—survive. There are 30 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.[1]
Mary-Annn was born in 1846. She passed away in 1921.
