John married Alice Crosier nee Richardson on 14 September 1801 at Billingham, Durham.[1]
John's first children were Richardson and Alice, baptised on 10 Jun 1802 at St Cuthbert's, Darlington: "Richardson Wilkinson and Alice Wilkinson, born June 9, baptised June 10, 1st son and 1st daughter (twins) of John Wilkinson, weaver, native of Darlington, by his wife Alice Crosier, native of Darlington".[2][3]
When the second son James was born in 1804, different details were given for Alice: James Wilkinson, born April 30th, baptised May 6th, 2nd son of John Wilkinson, weaver, native of Darlington, by his wife Alice Richardson, native of Newsham in the parish of Kirby-Hill, Yorkshire.[4]
