Thomas Montague was born on 15 July 1844 in Bermondsey, Surrey, England.
His parents were Frederick George Wilkinson and Mary Ann Charlotte Hunn.
He had 7 siblings - Frederick George, Albert Edwin, Emma, Sidney, Mary Ann, Clara and Charles David.
Baptism
Thomas was baptised on 28 August 1844 at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Bermondsey, London, England.
Unlike his parents who were both Baptist Thomas was baptised into the Church of England.
At that time the family lived in Salisbury Lane in Bermondsey
Migration
Thomas migrated to Australia on the ship Wilson Kennedy and they arrived in Sydney on 27 December 1852.
With Thomas were his parents Frederick and Mary and his two siblings Clara and Charles.
Marriage
Thomas married Rachel Graham on 22 July 1872 in Sydney, New South Wales
Thomas was 28 years old and Rachel was 22 years old.
Thomas and Rachel had 5 children - William Frederick, Ada Jane, Thomas Albert, Alice Clara and Florence Maria
Death and Burial
Thomas died at the age of 58 on 4 September 1902 in Redfern, New South Wales.
He probably died at home at 76 Eveleigh Street, Redfern
He was buried on 5 September 1902 at Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney, in the Old Church of England Cemetery, Section 4, Row 10.
