Biography

Alice Willard, daughter of Simon Willard and Mary Whitcomb,^[1] was born about 1705 in Lancaster, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony.^[2] An alternate DOB, from the Whitney Genealogy, is December 1699.^[3]

Alice owned the covenant and was baptized 20 July 1718^[1] in Lancaster.^[3]

Alice married Jonathan Whitney, son of Richard Whitney and Elizabeth Sawtell.^[3] They were married by John Houghton, Esq., J.P., in Lancaster, Massachusetts on 25 February 1718/9.^[4] Intentions may have been published 29 January 1718/9.^[3][1] Their children were:

1. Simon, born 20 March 1719/20, married Olive [Wetherbee] and [wid.] Patience Haseltine^[3]
2. Betsey, married Phineas Wetherbee,^[3] born c. 1722 (est)

Alice was named in the will of her grandmother, Rebecca Whitcomb, dated 27 May 1720. Also named were: her mother Mary Fransworth wife of Samuel Farnsworth, and her siblings Eunice and Miriam, daughters of Simon WIllard, dec'd.^[5]

Alice died on 19 February 1792 in Harvard, Worcester, Massachusetts,^[6] aged ~86.^[7]
