Biography

Evans was born in 1869. (May 1 or 28).
He was the son of John Willard and Sarah Colyott.

May 31, 1894 he married Nancy Matilda "Tilly" Baty.[1]

Brandsville – Lee Rouintree and family of Cull visited with the Rev E. [Evan] Willard Sunday.

In a Letter from his sister-in-law Rhoda Willard to her son, Arthur, Sept 12, 1918 she says:
“Evan & folks are in Ark. picking cotton, all but Lee and Vernie. They are in B.V.” (Brandsville)

—May 29, 1941, p2 - Rock Valley - Mr and Mrs Squire Willard, Mr and Mrs Lee Willard and children, attended a birthday dinner at the Evan Willard home near Blue Mound Sunday.
—June 8, 1944, p3 - Honored on 75th birthday - Evan Willard was honored at his home 6 miles west of West Plains on the Pottersvile Road Sunday when a large group of relatives gathered for a family reunion dinner celebrating his 75th birthday anniversary. The guests gathered from West Plains, Springfield and Buffalo, as well as from his home community. Those present were Mrs. Ella Tilson, Geneva Gann, Mr and Mrs Noah House and children, Mrs Bertha Parson and children, Mr and Mrs Tindel Lambeth and children, Mrs. Dovie Quay and grandson Richard Tinnson of Springfield, Mr and Mrs J.D. Willard of Rover, Mr and Mrs Squire Willard, Mr and Mrs John Willard and children, Mr and Mrs W.A. Campbell, A.A. Willard and sons, Dwayne (sic: Duane) and Dallas and daughter, May (sic: Mary) Frances, all of Buffalo, Rose Lee (sic: Rosalee) and Glenda Willard of Rover, Mr and Mrs Joe Quay and son of Spgfld, Mr and Mrs Jack Harrell and son of Springfield, Mr and Mrs James Summers and children of Cull, Lester and Bonnie Harmon.
—Nov 9, 1944, p4 - Local - Evan Willard of Pottersville Rt has gone to Hoxie, Ark., to visit his brother, Johnny Willard. He was accompanied by Mr and Mrs Squire Willard of Pottersville Rt. They also plan to visit Fred Willard, who lives at Paragould, Ark. Their father was John Willard who used to run a nursery in Oregon County.

September 6, 1947 he married Pearl Nash/Myers/Willard in Fulton County, AR. He was 78; she was 58. She was from Cureall, Howell County, MO. He was from West Plains, Howell County, MO. [4]

He passed away May 20, 1951, age 82
Buried Oak Lawn Cem., West Plains, MO., not with his 1st wife in Jolliff Cemetery.
