Biography
George Pierce Willbanks was the 6th child of Stephen Garrett Willbanks and Angeline Lanier Willbanks. He was raised on the family farm in Chattooga County, GA and decided to be a physician like his uncle William Henry Willbanks. He graduated from Atlanta Medical College (now Emory) in 1883 and went to practice with his uncle in Texas. He did not like Texas and returned and set up practice in Rossville, GA. He made house calls on horseback until he bought a car (the first one in Rossville) in 1908.
He married Annie Dixon on March 22, 1893. They had two children: Mildred and Bonnie.
