Matthew Wood in his article in the New York Genealogical & Biographical Record, Vol. 119, Apr. & Jul. 1988, states that she is probably not the daughter of Moyles Williams. He also states that Moyles' wife was Ann Pankhurst.
In Hempstead Census of 1698 Dorcas Gildersleeve is listed next to Phebe Thickston who was named in Richard Gildersleeve's will without an indication of her relationship to him. Next Damares Lester. They are surrounded by numerous persons bearing the surnames of Smith and Wood. [4]
