Charles "Ted" was born in 1912. He was the son of Joseph Williams and Harriet Barnett.

Ted served in the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces based in the Pacific during the Second World War.
He married Catherine Mary Hoffman in 1935. They had 3 sons.
Ted died on 9 May 1986.
