Gurney Williams was killed when he was struck as he was about to board a commuter train in Manhattan. At the time of his death he was humor editor at Look magazine.[1]
Williams began his career with American Boy Magazine. He went on to work for Life, then was cartoon editor for 17 years at Collier's. He moved to Look magazine in 1954. He created the comic character "Brother Sebastian."[2]
