After watching country music special on PBS I was inspired to research Hank Williams' ancestry. When I learned that his mother was a Skipper whose lineage went back to Brunswick County, NC, I was encouraged that my 3rd great-grandmother Betsy Skipper Leonard (also of Brunswick might be kin to Hank, but there is scant info on how those early Skippers connect. It turned out that Hank's gg-grandmother, Rhoda Ann Strickland, appears to be the sister of my 3rd great-grandfather, Stephen Daniel Strickland.
