On 30 March 1851, Thomas Williams (62) Stocktaker Iron Works born at Eglwssilian, Anne Williams (56) born at St Bridge with Merthyr Tydfil born children John Williams (24) Iron Mine Haulier, Miles Williams (20) Iron Mine Haulier, Thomas Williams (17) Coal Miner and nephew Miles Llewellyn (13) Iron Miner, all born in Glamorganshire, lived in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorganshire, Wales. John married Catherine Davies on 3 December 1853 in Merthyr Tydfil County, Wales. [citation needed]
Children
John and Catherine emigrated from Wales with 2 children, Ann and William. They arrived in South Australia in 1856 on the Lord Hungerford.[3] Daughter Catherine was born in South Australia in 1858.
They moved to Victoria where daughter Sarah was born in Castlemaine in 1861 and Margaret at Jail Hill, Castlemaine, Victoria in July 1863.
He passed away in 1896 at the Castlemaine Hospital [4] and was buried at Chewton, Victoria. [5] [6]
