Biography

Charles Williams was born about 1846 in Middleton Cheney, Northamptonshire, England to John Williams and Mary Ann.

Charles was christened in Middleton Cheney on 27 May 1849.[1]

In 1851 Charles William (age 6, Scholar) lived in Middleton Cheney with his father John (34, Coal & Flour Dealer), mother M T (31), and orphan/cousin? Elizabeth Watts (9).[2]

In 1861 Charles Williams (age 16, Agricultural Labourer) lived in Middleton Cheney with his father John (44, Agricultural Labourer) and mother Mary Ann (41).[3]

Charles Williams married Hannah Cox in 1865. The marriage was registered in West Bromwich, Staffordshire in the last quarter of the year.[4]

Charles and Hannah had at least five children: Mary Ann Williams (1866-), Jane Williams (1868-1868), Jemuel Williams (1869-), Elizabeth Williams (1872-bef.1881), and Ada Williams (1883-).

In 1871 Charles Williams (age 26, Agricultural Labourer) lived in Middleton Cheney with his wife Hannah (26) and two children: Mary Ann (4) and Samuel (2).[5]

In 1881 Charls Williams (age 36, Brick Maker) lived at Palmerston St in Manchester, Lancashire with his wife Hannah (36) and two children: Mary Ann (14, Scholar) and Samuel (12, Scholar), as well as his father John Williams (64, Unemployed, Widower).[6]

In 1891 Charles Williams (age 47, Coal Merchant) lived at Rowland Street in Beswick, Lancashire with his wife Hannah (47) and three children: James (22, Waggonette Driver), Mary (24, Housemaid), and Ada (8, Scholar).[7]

In 1901 Charles Williams (55, Coal Dealer) lived at Rowland Street in North Manchester with his wife Hannah (55) and two daughters: Mary (29[34]) and Ada (18, Skirt Machinist).[8]

In 1911 Charles William (age 66, Coal Dealer) lived in Beswick, North Manchester with his wife Hannah (66) and two daughters: Mary Ann (44, Skirt Maker) and Ada (28, Office Cleaner).[9]
