Biography

John Williams was born on 13 July 1823 at Wroxton in Oxfordshire and was baptised on 25 December 1823 in the Independent Church of Wroxton and Great Bourton, as the son of John Williams, a farmer, of Wroxton, and his wife Elizabeth, born Elizabeth Page. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

In 1841 John Williams was living at Wroxton with John and Elizabeth Williams (presumably his parents) and their other children. His age was given as 15, implying a birth date between 1821 and 1826. ^[2]

John Williams, bachelor, of full age, a farmer, of Wroxton, son of John Williams, farmer; and Mary Carpenter, spinster, of full age, of Wroxton, daughter of Joseph Carpenter, farmer; were married at the parish church of Wroxton on 16 August 1850. ^[3]
