Biography

Jessie Constance Williams was born in 1863 in Islington, London, England to John Parker Williams and Susannah Mercy (Hubbard) Williams. Her birth was registered in Islington in the third quarter of the year.[1]

In 1871 Jepid Constane [Jessie Constance] Williams (age 7) lived in St Lukes, London with her father John Parker (43, Civil Service), mother Susana May (41), and two servants: May Ann Everit (19, Cook) and Elizabeth Moore (19, Housemaid).[2]

In 1881 Sophia [Jessie] Constance Williams (age 17) lived at Clapham Common in Hackney, London with her father John Parks (53, Civl Service 1st Class Clerk Exchequer & Audit Dept), mother Susanna Mary (51), and servant Melinda Bishop (26, Cook).[3]

Jessie's mother passed away in 1884: "WILLIAMS Susannah Mercy. Personal Estate £933 14s. 11d. 15 December. Administration (with the Will) of the Personal Estate of Susannah Mercy Williams (Wife od John Parker Williams) late of the Hollies 89 Upper-Clapton-common in the County of Middlesex who died 19 September 1884 at the Hollies was granted at the Principal Registry under certain Specialties to the said John Parker Williams of the Hollies Clerk in the Exchequer and Audit Department Somerset House and David John Hubbard of 110 Cannon-street in the City of London Solicitor the Brother the Executors."[4]

In 1891 Sophia [Jessie] C Williams (age 27) lived at Clapton Common in Hackney with her father John P (63, Retired on Pension Civil Service) and two servants: Anna Thompson (29, Housemaid) and Lucy Chapman (22, Cook).[5]

Jessie Constance Williams married Herbert Twelvetrees in 1893. The marriage was registered in Hackney in the second quarter of the year.[6]

In 1901 Jessie C Twelvetrees (age 37) lived at Clapton Common in Hackney with her husband Herbert Twelvetrees (35, Accountant to Electrical Engineer), father John Williams (age 74, Retired Civil Servant), and three servants: Annie Thompson (39, Housemaid), Eliza May (22, Housemaid), and Hester Owen (49, Cook).[7]

Jessie's father passed away in 1901: "WILLIAMS John Parker of 89 the Common Upper Clapton Middlesex gentleman died 16 April 1901 Probate London 1 June to Jessie Constance Twelvetrees (wife of Herbert Twelvetrees) Arthur Corrie Keep consulting-surgeon and David John Hubbard solicitor. Effects £6969 0s. 9d."[8]

In 1911 Jessie Constance Twelvetrees (age 47) lived in Hackney with her husband Herbert (45, Accountant) and two servants: Annie Thompson (49, Cook) and Emma Tucker (30, Housemaid).[9]

In 1927 Jessie inherited from her unmarried aunt Emma Hubbard: "HUBBARD Emma of Clarence Lodge Clarence-road Clapham Park Surrey spinster died 4 February 1927 Administration (with Will) (save and except settled land) London 27 April to Jessie Constance Twelvetrees (wife of Herbert Twelvetrees). Effects £5117 6s. 5d. Further Grant 6 September 1927."[10]

Jessie's husband passed away in 1932: "TWELVETREES Herbert of 89 Clapton Common Middlesex died 6 July 1932 Probate London 1 September to William Eve solicitor. Effects £3224 13s. 10d. Resworn £3538 18s. 6d."[11]

Jessie passed away on 19 Oct 1944: "TWELVETREES Jessie Constance of 89 Clapton Common Upper Clapton London widow died 19 October 1944 at Stracathro Hospital Brechin Angus Probate Oxford 14 March to Westminster Bank Limited. Effects £20085 12s."[12]

Williams-367 and Williams-366 appear to represent the same person because: The second profile was originally named "Sophie C Williams", but the Sophia on the 1881 and 1891 census is actually Jessie - I'm not certain if it is simply a transcription error or if Jessie went by Sophia, but John Parker Williams and Susannah Mercy Hubbard had only one daughter.
