Biography

Amanda was born July 11, 1841. Amanda Williams was the daughter of George Williams and Sarah Ann Hall.^[1][2] She was a member of the Methodist church.^[3]

She was married to Wilson Shields on October 1870.^[4] One son, Otho W. Shields, was born, and Wilson Shields died when Otho was eight months old.

She was married again in October 1876, to a farmer named James Bridgewaters. They lived in the west half of Gibson Township, Washington County, Indiana.^[5][6][7] Six Bridgewaters children were born (names and residences from Amanda's 1918 obituary): Mrs. S. A. Huckleberry, of Otterbein, Indiana; Mrs. Fred Taylor, Of Lafayette; Mrs. Geo. Campbell, of Salem; Mrs. Jesse Bane, of Lebert and Louis Bridgewaters of Ambia, Indiana.^[3]

On February 13, 1914, James Bridgewaters died. Amanda was married to Kinchen Killey April 7, 1915.^[8]

Amanda Killey passed away November 18, 1918, aged 77 years, 4 months and 7 days.^[9] She was buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery in Washington County, Indiana, USA.^[10] Kinchen Killey, seven children, one stepson, two brothers, two sisters, thirty-two grandchildren remained at the time of her death.^[3]
