Biography
Thomas Williams was born in Nottinghamshire, England.
Thomas Walster was baptised 14 May 1820 at Normanton on Trent, Nottinghamshire [1].
Thomas left England in December 1844 bound for Australia. A 24 year old Farm Labourer from Sutton on Trent, Nottinghamshire, son of Thomas and Mary, a Protestant who could read only, paid £18.7.6d bounty for passage on the 'Elizabeth' as a NSW Assisted Immigrant. [2]
At some stage early in Australia he dropped his birth name and became known as Thomas Williams.
Thomas Williams married Maria Isaacs (nee Feltham, widow of Charles Isaacs) in Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia, in 1854 [3]
