Catherine Williams was born on 19 Mar 1818 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, daughter of William Kelly Williams (1771 - 1852) and Mary (Scott) Williams (1784 - 1855).
Catherine married John Swan , son of John Swan and Phoebe Tubbs. Their children were:
- Sophia (Swan) Patterson (1842 - 1910)
- Lucinda C. (Swan) Thomson (1843 - 1918)
- James Harvey Swan (1845 - 1899)
- Emma (Swan) Houck (1848 - 1909)
- Harriett Swan (1850 - 1918)
- William W. Swan (1852 - 1873)
- Anson Swan (1856 - 1936).
Catherine died on 8 Oct 1890 in Ansonville, Clearfield aged 72. She is buried in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Ansonville, Pennsylvania.
