John Williams was born in 1885 in Llanfairfechan, Caernarfonshire, Wales. He was son of John Williams and Alice (Abram) Williams. Civil Parish Llanfair-Fechan. Ecclesiastical Parish Llanfairfechan St. Mary. Subdistrict: Bangor. 
In 1901 he was 15 years old, living with his mother and some siblings. His father had already died. His job was "Settsmaker in Stonequarry".

In 1915 he crossed the border from Canada, to port of Newport, Vermont, United States. [Here he writes his middle name Abraham.] He was 31 years old and states he previously lived in the United States from 1907 to 1915 in "various" places. Paid for passage himself. His destination was home of his uncle Hugh T. (Jones). (Hugh Jones who lived in Marlborough, New Hampshire.) He lists the Seaport and Date of Landing as Boston, May 23, 1907 on SS Ivernia (?). Purpose in coming was "Permanent". 
John A Williams and Sarah L Hayes married 01 Dec 1916 in Rockland, Maine. 
He died in Marlborough in 1950.  confirms name of parents John Williams and Alice Abram.
