David's mother Elizabeth Bodde=Boddie "may" be the daughter of William Boddie who's second wife was Mary Elizabeth (Edwards??). See Boddie's book p348 on Isle of Wight.

There is a David Williams that purchased 190 acres "joining said Williams home place on the So. Et. side of the six runs, a branch of Black River" on 17 May 1754 in Duplin, North Carolina. [5] He purchased an additional 160 acres on the "E side of Six runs" on 23 Dec 1754 in Duplin, North Carolina.[6] There is another record for David Williams for purchasing 200 acres "between Edmond Mathews and Samuel Sellers land" on 23 May 1757 in Duplin, North Carolina.[7] In the same timeframe, there are numerous land records for a David Williams purchasing land in New Hanover, North Carolina. Due to the commonality of the name, it is impossible to differentiate between the two without searching for records regarding the disposition of these lands.
As well as the above land records, there are numerous court records for a David Williams in Isle of Wight, Virginia between 1741 and 1778.
