Martha was born in 1828. She was the daughter of Washington Williams and Hessy Stevens. She married Dr. Charles Warden. They had 12 children, 5 of whom did not survive infancy. When her family moved to Oregon, she was already married and remained in Iowa. She passed away in 1893.
