Eunice “Maw Maw” Williams Smith, age 100, of Dalton, went to be with Jesus, Friday January 16, 2004. Eunice was born July 28, 1903 in Gordon County and was the daughter of the late Charlie & Martha Faulkenberry Wiliams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. Smith, Sr. She lives to cherish her memory daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred Stewart Richards, Frances Crossen Bryant and Winfred Bryant, Ola Mae and Earl Ray; one son, Charlie “Bud” Smith, Jr. all of Dalton; grandchildren, Roger and Carol Crossen, Charlotte and Jeff Kovach, Gerald Ray, Jimmy Ray and friend Janice Slaughter and Mike Smith, all of Dalton; great grandchildren, Chris and Allison Crossen, Tony and Sacha Crossen, all of Dalton, Heidi Kovach of Lakeland, Florida, Greg Kovach and fiancée Kristin Ferguson of New Orleans; special great great grandchildren, Bailee Crossen ,Brody Crossen, and Abby Crossen, all of Dalton; step grandchildren, Marvin and Judy Richards of Rome, Kaye and Joel Blackburn of Dalton; step great grandchildren, Lisa and Randall Green of Rome, Jennifer and Chris Davis of Calhoun, Neal and Julia Richards of Rome, Nicholas Smith and Greg Smith of Dalton. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Green, Rev. Mike Mahoney and Rev. Bob Neighbors officiating. Burial will be in the Sugar Valley Cemetery in Gordon County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 until 9:00 pm. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Mt. Rachel Baptist Church or Hamilton Hospice, P.O. Box 1168, Dalton, Ga 30722.
