Margaret Williams was the daughter of Isaac Williams and his wife Margaret Rees. According to the 1861 and 1871 census Margaret Williams Jnr was born in the little village of Laleston, just outside Bridgend Glamorganshire Wales UK. Her birth was recorded 1st quarter 1861 in the Bridgend District of Glamorganshire.
We can find Margaret Jnr living at the family home with her parents in Laleston Village, Laleston parish, (near) Bridgend Glamorganshire Wales UK. Margaret is under 12 months of age. Also at the family home are two of Margaret’s elder siblings. These being John (b 1856) and Evan (b 1858). Both the elder siblings were recorded as being born in Llanwonno Glamorganshire. Margaret’s father is recorded as a mine labourer.
By 1871 the family has moved again this time they can be found on the 1871 census at Cymmer (aka Cymer) Llantrisant Pontypridd Glamorganshire UK. Which is situated a few miles south of the last location. Margaret is living with her parents and six siblings. These are John and Evan the elder siblings. The younger are, Eleanor (aka Ellen, b 1864), William aka Willie, b 1867) Martha Jane (b 1869) and Thomas Edward (b 1871). All the younger siblings were born in Llantrisaint Glamorganshire.
A few years after the 1871 census, Margaret married Thomas David Rees. The marriage was recorded 3rd quarter 1878 in the Pontypridd District of Glamorganshire Wales UK. Unfortunately I have not been able to find Margaret and her husband on the 1881 census. According to the 1891 census they should have been in the Llantrisaint area, as their son David Edward Rees was born in that area in 1880. That said they do turn up on the 1891 census living at High Street Llantrisaint Pontpridd Glamorganshire. Along with Margaret and her husband Thomas, there are four children at the family home these are David E (b 1880), Watkin (b 1882, wrongly enter as 1883), Tommy aka Thomas (b 1886) and Mary Ann (b 1889) all four of the children are recorded as being born in Llantrisaint Glamorganshire.
We know that Margaret Rees (Williams) died sometime before 1900. Because her husband Thomas married the widow Lydia Todd in 1900. As yet I have not been lucky enough to find a burial record for Margaret. I have narrowed it down to two possible candidates. The first was recorded in 1895, and the other in 1897. Both death records are recorded in the Pontypridd District of Glamorganshire.
