George Williams and Jane Henly were the parents of Mary Williams born 1850.
George was convicted at the Monmouth Assizes on 22 March 1838 for burglary and was transported on 'Gilmore' on 5 October 1838 from London. His gaol report for a previous conviction was "good connexions poor but very honest". The surgeon superintendent reported him as "good and very quiet".[1]
George was a labourer from Monmouth, 23 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches in height. His head was large with an oval visage and a low forehead. He had a dark complexion, brown hair and black whiskers. brown eyebrows and hazel eyes. He had a small mouth and his nose and chin were medium. George Williams married Jane Henly in the school house at Swansea on 10 June 1844. [2]
He was granted a conditional pardon on 31 January 1849.
