Corporal John Williams served with 4th Connecticut Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

John Williams is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A126208.

Corporal John Williams was born December 3, 1759, in Groton, New London, Connecticut Colony, a son of David Williams and Amy Packer. During the American Revolutionary War, David enlisted as a Private. He attained the rank of Corporal before the end of his military service. The details of his enlistment are contained in his Application for Pension *S14873.

John is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A126208. DAR records indicate that John died November 9, 1848, in Rome, Oneida county, New York and that he was twice married. John's first wife was Sarah Stark and his second was Cathrine [sic] Morton. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of his sons, John Williams, who married Martha Knapp; Henry Williams, who married Mary Seeley; and of his daughter, Sarah Williams, who married Job Babcock.
