Biography

The son of William Williamson (1780-1834) and Martha Young Harwood (1790-1845), George was born in Hanover in 1830. His siblings included:

  3. Susan Angeline Williamson (1821-1861)
  4. James C. Williamson (1823-1840)
  5. Richard H. Williamson (1825-)
  6. Elizabeth Mildred Williamson (1827-1892)

  8. Jane C. Williamson (1834-)

He migrated west to Tennessee, settling in Giles County where he served as a Private with Captain Chambliss' Company of the 3rd Tennessee Infantry during the Mexican-American War, serving in January and February of 1848.[1] He resumed residence in Giles County.[2]

He married Martha (Hewitt) Magee in Maury County, Tennessee on November 14, 1854.[3] Their children included:

  2. Martha Angie Williamson (1856-)
  3. Nancy F. Williamson (1856-)
  4. Mary D. Williamson (1859-)
