Military Service: Commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the 12th Pennsylvania Regiment. On May 20, 1777 he was made a First Lt. He served under Colonel Cook at Brandywine and Germantown, and he participated in the Battle of Monmouth, and wintered at Valley Forge.

Some have suggested that James Williamson is buried in Greenville, PA. My cousin, Paul W. Myers has furnished a photo of Williamson's tombstone on FINDAGRAVE. See: FINDAGRAVE 42566434 - James Williamson (1754-1818) and FINDAGRAVE 46853750 Jane McEwen Williamson. I suspect you may find that they resided in Lackawannock Township.
