Daughter Helen's death certificate states that her parents were "Joseph Carmichael, hand loom weaver (deceased)" and "Rachel Carmichael, MS Williamson (deceased).
It's likely that Rachel died before 1851, as she doesn't appear to have been recorded on the census.
