Biography

Julia, or Julie as she was called, was born in 1865, the daughter of James and Mary (Teasley) Williford, in Bond County, Illinois. In around 1880 the family would move to Arkansas and then on to Oklahoma.

Julie would marry Jasper Newton (J.N.) Schrimsher in 1892 when living in Wagoner, Oklahoma Indian Territory. Julie was J.N.'s second wife and she would help raise one of his daughters by his first marriage.

Julie and J.N. would have three daughters as follows:

Josephine (Schrimsher) Van Meter (1897-1978)

Lillian Marie (Schrimsher) Rasberry (1896–1976)

Nellie P. Schrimsher (1900–2000)

Julie would live until 1957 when she passed away at 92 years of age. Her body is buried in the Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Wagoner County, Oklahoma, along with Jasper Newton's.
