Biography

William was born in 1819. He passed away in 1906.

John "Jack" Williford, apparently a son of Charles Williford of Southampton County, Virginia, has been described as a small but rugged pioneer with exceptionally strong arms. On 4 March 1799 he married Sarah Williford, daughter of John Williford and wife Molly Jenkins. In 1836 they left Southampton County and moved to Davidson County, Tennessee.

Children of John and Sarah Williford:

(1) James Williford;

(2) Charles Williford;

(3) Marcus Lafayette Williford;

(4) Sally Williford;

(5) Eliza Williford;

(6) George Williford married and moved from the home community;

(7) William Robert Williford was born in 1819 in Southampton County, and died in 1907 in Davidson County, Tennessee. He married and had eight sons and four daughters. (M. L. Williford of Leachville, Arkansas, in 1937, was a granddaughter of W. R. Williford. Her parents moved to Arkansas when she was five years of age.)
